Insurer pilot program

How health insurers can run a 90-day Wellex pilot.

Last updated: 2026-04-07

Why insurers run this pilot

Wearables in insurance have a bad reputation — surveillance, premium discrimination, data brokering. Wellex is built for the opposite: a wellness benefit that the insurer can offer to members without ever seeing their individual data.

Pilot scope

  • 90 days.
  • 250–2 000 members.
  • Wellex provides bracelets, app, onboarding and a single anonymised cohort report at the end.

What the insurer measures

  • Pilot opt-in rate (typical: 38–55%).
  • 30-day adherence (typical: > 70% wearing daily).
  • Aggregated WVI movement across the cohort.
  • Self-reported wellness improvements (optional survey).

What the insurer cannot do

  • Identify individuals.
  • Use the data for underwriting, premium adjustment or claims decisions.

These constraints are baked into the contract.
